This study investigates the relationship between the antecedents of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and entrepreneurial intention among Business Administration students at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), taking academic experience into account. The study adopted a quantitative survey design and used the Entrepreneurial Intention Questionnaire developed by Liñán and Chen (2009), administered to 70 students. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear regression. The results revealed positive relationships between Personal Attitudes, Subjective Norms, Perceived Behavioral Control, and Entrepreneurial Intention, with Personal Attitudes showing the strongest relationship. The joint analysis of these antecedents also revealed a significant association with entrepreneurial intention. Analyses based on academic experience showed that students who had taken entrepreneurship courses exhibited stronger relationships between the antecedents and entrepreneurial intention, particularly for Subjective Norms and Perceived Behavioral Control. Differences were also observed across stages of undergraduate study, especially in the relationship between Subjective Norms and Entrepreneurial Intention. The findings indicate that the relationships between TPB antecedents and entrepreneurial intention are not uniform, highlighting academic experience as a relevant dimension for understanding how these relationships vary among university students.
